Twitterati returns as India script history by defeating Argentina and Iraq

This was the first time the Blue Colts beat a global heavyweight such as the Albiceleste.

Since the FIFA U-17 World Cup last year, the India has had to overcome many obstacles in order to achieve glory. The road is not over, but the young Colts did something unimaginable on Sunday night and expectedly, the Twitterati have picked up the scent and have sent in thousands of tweets, congratulating the youngsters.

As part of the AIFF's exposure tours, the Indian U-16 and U-20 sides are currently in Jordan and Spain respectively, competing in the WAFF U-16 Championshipsand COTIF U-20 Cup. Coached by former India international Bibiano Fernandes, the U-16 side overcame Asian champions Iraq in a narrow 1-0 win w,hereas the U-20 side, mentored by Floyd Pinto, defeated heavyweights Argentina 2-1 last evening.

Since the two wins in two different continents, the Indian football enthusiasts as well as celebrities and government officials, joined hands to congratulate the players on Twitter.

Indian Minister of Youth and Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also sent in a tweet to congratulate the Indian Colts.

The President of All India Football Federation, Praful Patel, as well as the President of Delhi Football Association, Shaji Prabhakaran both, took to Twitter to congratulate the youngsters.

Indian senior football team captain, Sunil Chhetri, who is known for his admiration OF the next generation of Indian players was no different as he too joined in.

Kerala Blasters and India international ace Sandesh Jhingan also complimented the Indian Colts on Twitter.

Former India Internationals Jules Alberto and Abhishek Yadav also did not forget to felicitate the youngsters on Twitter as well.

The Association of Indian Football Coaches sent their heartiest congratulations to both Bibiano Fernandes and Floyd Pinto for achieving the remarkable feats.
