Indian Player Ratings: Gurpreet and Nandha Kumar star despite late Udanta strike
(Courtesy : ISL Media)
The Blues edged the Lions by a single goal to go to the top of the table.
150 appearances for the Blues. On such a special occasion for Bengaluru FC skipper Sunil Chhetri, anything less than a win would have been an injustice to the talisman. It is exactly what the Blues produced, as Udanta Singh's late strike ensured another three points and the perfect tribute to one of the club's and country's most dedicated servants.
Delhi Dynamos had their chances in the first half to put the game to bed and will be ruing their profligacy in what could have been a morale-boosting win.

The Bengaluru custodian had a confortable night
The India custodian proved why Bengaluru paid such big money for his acquisition. It was a personal battle between him and Nandakumar Sekar, as the visitors were denied on multiple occasions thanks to the giant keeper
Rahul Bheke - 5.5
His versatility is a delight for any coach as he was asked to play at left-back during this game. Was in trouble when Nandakumar made regular runs past him on his flank and was exposed on multiple occasions.
Rino Anto - 6.0
Put in a solid shift during his first start of the season and kept his marker on a leash throughout the game. Bengaluru boss Carles Cuadrat would have a welcome selection headache if his players continue to perform in this manner.
Harmanjot Khabra - 5.5
Charged with holding the midfield alongside Xisco in the absence of Erik Paartalu and had a tough time dealing with the dynamic duo of Marcos Tebar and Adrian Carmona as they took control of the midfield, especially in the first half. Grew into the game in the second 45 and was seen making more forward runs.
Udanta Singh - 6.5
Was the difference-maker as his powerful low strike took a deflection off the post and went in in the dying embers of the game. Had an ordinary first half and would have wanted to have a greater influence in the game despite his strike.
Nishu Kumar - 6.5
For someone so young, the versatility that Nishu brings is heartening for the Indian football fan. Asked to play in a forward left-sided role, he brought in natural width to aid Chhetri's creativity and was also the first line of forward pressing for Bengaluru. Cuadrat would be delighted with the myriad options he has at his disposal.
Sunil Chhetri: 6.5
150 games for the club. The club and fans paid their rightful tribute to their talisman. Was all action as usual and was instrumental in winning the ball back outside the Delhi box, that led to Udanta's goal. It would be hard to imagine Bengaluru or India without the famous #11. But till then, every fan should sit back and enjoy possibly India's best ever player.
Substitutes
Semboi Haokip- 5.5
Brought more energy to the fronline and his runs into space occupied the central defenders to allow Chhetri and Udanta more freedom.
Gursimrat Singh - 5.0
The youngster replaced veteran Albert Serran and was thrown on to provide a defensive base for the team to throw the kitchen sink at Delhi in search of a winner.

Delhi Dynamos
Albino Gomes - 6.0
The custodian was very unlucky as the winning goal rebounded off the post and into the goal. Would be one of those wondering how his team has not come away from this game with three points considering the strong first half.
Pritam Kotal - 6.0
Solid shift at right-back and made frequent runs forward to support the lively Nandakumar. Had a few nervy moments as Nishu and later Chhetri took the game to him.
Narayan Das - 5.5
Was lively down the left flank in the first half. But, was under siege in the second half, as Bengaluru returned after the break with a purpose and was caught off guard during Udanta's game-winning strike.
Bikramjit Singh - 6.5
Showed tremendous energy in the midfield as his snappy tackling and ball-winning abilities allowed the creative pair of Adria Carmona and Tebar to own the middle of the park in a lively first half for the visitors. Struggled slightly after the introduction of Paartalu in the second half, but will be largely happy with his performance.
Nandakumar Sekar - 7.0

Sekar had a decent night
Will be wondering how he did not put away the numerous chances that came his way. A calmer head when he was put through by Carmona could have seen his side take a deserved lead, but produced a shot which was easily saved by Gurpreet. His influence reduced when Nishu was pulled back into his natural left-back position, but a sign of good things to come from the India youngster.
Lallinzuala Chhangte - 6.5
How brilliant and crucial a save was that from @GurpreetGK?Watch it LIVE on @hotstartweets: https://t.co/86ros9d4m5JioTV users can watch it LIVE on the app. #HeroISL #ISLMoments #LetsFootball #BENDEL #FanBannaPadega pic.twitter.com/UuqxkliK5n

Chhangte missed a crucial goal scoring chance
The winger was another bright light for the visitors as his pace troubled Rino Anto on a few occasions and like Sekar, should have buried his effort when put clean through on goal. The Bengaluru defence were always on the back foot whenever he was on the ball and India boss Stephen Constantine would be closely watching his progress in this Delhi side.
Substitutes
Vinit Rai - 5.5
Was brought on as a defensive option by Delhi tactician Josep Gombau, as Bengaluru looked for the winner. Safe to say that the option did not work as the home side used their power in midfield to set up proceedings for the winning goal.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Romeo Fernandes - 5.0
Brought on to shore up the midfield, as Paartalu's introduction into the fray turned the tide for the home side. Could have contributed more effectively to stem the tide.
