Exclusive: Chennaiyin FC lead race for Edwin Sydney Vanspaul
ISL counterparts Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur are also interested in his services.
It looks like Tamil Nadu's 26-year-old Edwin Sydney Vanspaul is in high demand, with Kerala Blasters and Chennaiyin FC joining Jamshedpur FC in the race to grab his signature.
Earlier Khel Now had reported that the midfielder was being wooed by Jamshedpur FC, but now according to Khel Now's understanding with certain sources, the I-League champion has come under the radar of many other clubs.
The Marina Machans, busy with their AFC Cup campaign, could be a possible destination due to Chennai being the hometown of Vanspaul. Also, Jamshedpur have reportedly lost Michael Soosairaj to ATK. Being from the same home state, Soosairaj's possible departure could mean Vanspaul would not prefer the Jharkhand-based outfit.
Also, the fact that Chennaiyin are playing in the AFC Cup this season, could attractVanspaul to the southerners. Vanspaul's parent club Chennai City are scheduled to play in the continental tournament next season and it would be understandable if Vanspaul does not want to miss the chance to play in the showpiece tournament.

Also, Vanspaul is considered to be highly versatile, having played as a right-back as well as a defensive midfielder whenever his team needed him.
The 26-year-old was one of the most improved players under Akbar Nawas as the Singaporean led his side to maiden I-League title last season. Vanspaul proved to be a trustworthy option as he went onto become one of the key factors in Nawas' gameplay.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]This is not the first time Vanspaul has come under the scope for Indian Super League (ISL) clubs. Before the beginning of the 2018-19 season, the Tamil Nadu midfielder attracted interest from NorthEast United FC, however, the move did not materialize at the end.
The recent developments come after Chennai City's Romario Jesuraj allegedly entered negotiations with an unnamed Indian Super League club, without informing his parent outfit. It has already been reported by Khel Now, that Jesuraj's actions has violated norms by seeking a move with the help of his agent, who is understood to have sent his profile to the ISL outfit in question.
