Real Madrid should sign Hazard ahead of Neymar- Thibaut Courtois
After the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Los Blancos are in dire need of an attacking talisman.
Real Madrid's biggest investment in this season, Thibaut Courtois made a shocking revelation as the Belgian custodian chose a former teammate and compatriot Eden Hazard to be a more ideal signing for Real Madrid than chasing after Neymar.
Courtois plays alongside Hazard for Belgium and were also a part of the same set up during the lank goalkeeper's days at Stamford Bridge before moving to the Spanish capital after his astounding success in the World Cup in Russia.
Hazard, on the other hand, has been time again linked with a move to the Spanish capital and with time it looks more and more likely that the 28-year old might leave Stamford Bridge to join Real Madrid which he claims as his "dream move" in his career.
The Los Blancos are in a period of stagnation and with Cristiano Ronaldo's departure to Juventus, the Galacticos era has come to an end. The absence of the Portuguese talisman has hampered life for caretaker manager Santiago Solari and his predecessor Julen Lopetegui as the team has fallen apart many times in this period.
Amidst all the rumours former Barcelona and current PSG superstar still remains as an option for Real Madrid to fill that void in themselves, however, Courtois feels that his countryman can make a bigger impact at Santiago Bernabeu than the Brazilian.
n an interview with Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, the former Chelsea man said, "I [would] choose Eden, of course. I really like him, but the choice is up to the board.
"I do not know what will happen. That is not a question for me, but for the chairman and the management.
"The team is what it is now. Karim Benzema is in a good shape and scored 17 goals. [Gareth] Bale started well but then had to deal with injuries.
"You see in the matches that we have quality, only sometimes it is not possible to score."
Real Madrid have been disappointing and understandably so as they are in their transition period. The Los Blancos are currently in the third position in the league table and ten points adrift league leaders and eternal rivals FC Barcelona.

The Catalans have been very expansive with their swagger in the transfer window as they have literally splashed the cash around, and mostly after Neymar's big money departure to Paris Saint Germain in 2017.
Courtois does not believe that their lavish business rate at the transfer market will continue because of the presence of UEFA Financial Fairplay regulations.
"We do not have to look at other teams, we have to look at ourselves," he said. "We have to build a new team.
"Who knows [whether] other teams will get into trouble with the rules of Financial Fair Play?

With Real Madrid struggling to find a natural wide goalscorer and that cutting edge in their attack, Chelsea Eden Hazard fits the bill perfectly and with a move to Real Madrid, wearing the royal white jersey always in his heart, it can be a huge deal for both parties.
