Minerva Punjab signs Japanese midfielder Toshiya Hosoe

The 26 years old will bolster the Minerva squad and offer them a better chance in the upcoming I-League season...
Minerva Punjab FC has signed Japanese midfielder Toshiya Hosoe from Maldives Dhivehi Premier League Champions Maziya Sports and Recreation Club. The 26-years-old has previously played for Australian side Port Melbourne Sharks and Phillipino side Kaya FC.
As India's Premier Football Tournament, Hero I-League set to return in action from early November, Northern powerhouse Minerva Punjab FC who remain the sole participants from the entire North India are leaving no stone unturned to make a mark in their second appearance in the Top Flight. After having signed some impressive local talents who have represented India National Teams in various age groups.

With AIFF granting 6 foreigners in this edition of the I-League of which the clubs can field maximum five foreign players in a match out of which minimum one player has to be from an AFC Member Association, Minerva Punjab FC hence roped in Maldives Dhivehi Premier League Champions Maziya Sports and Recreation Club Japanese midfielder Toshiya Hosoe.
26 Year Old, Toshiya Hosoe started his career in 2008 at Chukyo University, Japan. He went on to join Victoria-based Port Melbourne Sharks SC, Australia in 2011 who play in The National Premier League of Victoria. He was soon snapped up by Philippines Football League regulars Kaya FC–Makati in the following season to bolster their midfield but his stay was cut short to only one season as Maldives heavyweights Maziya Sports and Recreation Club came knocking for the fierce midfielder as he helped them win Dhivehi Premier League 2016 for the first time in the clubs 21 year history. He also represented the Maldivian based outfit in the AFC Cup Competition as he started all 6 games for the Green Boys playing a total of 496 minutes.
