Dawngliana scored the only goal for the defending champions.

Defending champions Chhinga Veng FC came out on top in the first leg of the first semi-final of the McDowell's No 1 Soda Mizoram Premier League Season 7.

A second-half penalty from MS Dawngliana was the difference between them and two-time champions Chanmari FC as they put themselves in the driving seat for a place in the final.

An even first half saw chances created few and far between as both teams opted for a cautious approach. They both cancelled each other out in midfield as they looked to feel each other out.

The second half was a more open affair as Chhinga Veng FC created threats early on. Foreigner forward Gatch Arthur Diomande forced a save from  Chanmari FC keeper Lalruatpuia while Lalromawia's shot was blocked by Chanmari defender R. Lalawmpuia.
