The Red Devils have 22 points from eight games in the Premier League under the Norwegian tactician.

Manchester United defeated Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in a narrow affair, as a single goal made all the difference. A wonderful finish from Marcus Rashford earned the Red Devils the crucial three points as they successfully bounced back from last week's draw against Burnley.

Following the clean sheet on Sunday night, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was all praise of the defence and particularly keeper David De Gea. Eric Bailly, on the other hand, made two crucial interceptions and a block to keep Jamie Vardy in check. The game also helped United to keep their first clean sheet in four games.

“They fought for their three points today. I think we deserved it in that respect,” Solskjaer said after the game.

“In the second half when we could have controlled it more, we could have slowed it down. But we defended really well. Eric and Victor were fantastic and David again of course."

He went on to praise the goalkeeper, ”If you have the foundation of a clean sheet you'll always be in with a chance to win a game and we've got a keeper that saves us, we've got a back four that sacrifices everything in the box, a couple of midfielders who made a couple of great blocks, that was absolutely amazing to watch and the attitude has been spot on ever since I came.”

Talking about the only goal scored by Marcus Rashford, Solskjaer said that he didn't want Marcus to attempt it in the corner. "I told him (to put it) through Schmeichel's legs, because he opens up," he said.

"But it was a great finish so I can't complain, can I?"

He later added that he 'very much' enjoyed the goal and especially the assist by Paul Pogba.

Rashford suffered a dead leg as the game progressed in the later stages. Ole said, "He's played a lot of games and he got a dead leg earlier on but he struggled through it so well done."
