You will have to ask the ref why he didn't give it- Jurgen Klopp on penalty incident
The Reds had a chance to go seven points clear on the top but the drew against Leicester City.
Liverpool missed a great chance to solidify there stay at the top of the Premier League table as the Red's managed to secure just a single point from Wednesday's game against Leicester City. A win against Foxes would have allowed Reds to create a hefty 7 points gap between them and Manchester City. Goals from Sadio Mane and Harry Maguire in the first half ensured that the match ended 1-1.
Liverpool's boss Jurgen Klopp was clearly unhappy with the match officials as he believed that his side was denied a clear penalty. Speaking to the BT Sport, the German said, "It was probably the clearest penalty situation we have had. You will have to ask the ref why he didn't give it"
The German also looked concerned about the pitch they played on as he believed that it was "very difficult" pitch to play on.
The opponent was well organised, very deep defending. The pitch was difficult and we needed to speed it up in the final third."
"Our counter-attacks in the opening moments were defended more by the pitch than our opponent,"
"We put them under pressure but they did really well. We were unlucky with the goal in the last second before half-time. You have to take it how it is." added Klopp

On the other hand, Leicester's manager Claude Puel praised his side for containing the table toppers and securing the well-fought point.
[KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]"Of course, I am proud of my players, It was another difficult start to the game. We conceded after two minutes but we didn't lose our structure. At the end, we had more chances and it could have been better at the end." said Puel.
The draw meant that Liverpool is now five points clear at the top with 61 points while Leicester City sits on 11th place with 32 points. The Reds will now battle against West Ham on 5th February and Leicester will face in-form Manchester United on Sunday.
