The Nerazzurri have been tracking the Croatian captain following his impressive performances at the World Cup.

Since a string of impressive performance at the FIFA World Cup 2018, several clubs have been trying to lure Luka Modric from the Bernabeu. Earlier on Thursday, Inter Milan and Croatia international Marcelo Brozovic posted an Instagram story, with him and Luka Modric together in a photo, titled "Deal is done" and deleted it a few minutes later. It has been revealed by a Twitter user InterUEA with a screenshot of the story.

The Real Madrid midfielder has been linked to the Serie A outfit recently. It is being speculated that manager Luciano Spalletti is a big admirer of the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.

Inter have already completed the signing of another Croatian in the form of Sime Vrsaljko, and now the attention of the Nerazzurri fans have shifted towards the Croatian skipper. If the move actually materializes, it would put the Italians on the same footing as Juventus, who signed Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo earlier in this year's transfer window.

The 32-year old is also said to be scheduled to have a meeting with club president Florentino Perez to establish his future.

According to reports in Italy, the Serie A club have stalled other moves including the speculated transfer of Arturo Vidal. Other reports have been stating that the club wants to sign both the midfielders together, in what could a title-winning move.

Modric is currently in Italy for vacation in Sardinia until the weekend, after which he said to have scheduled a face to face meeting with the Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. Reports also state that Inter have already contacted his agent and could make this move a possibility.

If the Nerazzurri manage to pry him away from Bernabeu, then it will be a boost to their ambitions in the upcoming season, where they will be participating in the UEFA Champions League as well.
