Juventus seal sensational Cristiano Ronaldo swoop
The move will see the Portuguese become one of the highest paid players in the world once again.
Real Madrid have announced the departure of their star striker Cristiano Ronaldo to Italian champions Juventus in an official statement earlier today. In what is going to be a mammoth deal for the Old Lady, Juventus will be paying Real Madrid an estimated €100m over two years and will also pay €12m in add-ons. It is being reported that Ronaldo will again become one of the top earning players in the world and will be paid around €30m-a-year in his stay at Juventus.

Some stunning turn of events, which included Juventus president Andrea Agnelli himself travelling to Greece (where Ronaldo is spending his holidays) to seal the deal for what has become Juventus' most expensive player ever. It was being rumored that Ronaldo was not happy with his position at Madrid for quite a while now and following a sketchy post-match interview he gave after winning his fourth UEFA Champions League title with Los Blancos, chances of his departure became even likelier.
It is being reported that Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, played a big part in the deal going through and was responsible for the swift pace at which it was seen through. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has also released his own statement after the transfer was confirmed, in which he has thanked the fans of Real Madrid and all its staff for the love and support he received in the Spanish capital.

In their own statement, Real Madrid thanked Ronaldo for the years of service he gave the club in his almost decade-long stay at Los Blancos. Ronaldo scored an incredible 451 goals in the 438 games he played for Madrid and won a total of 16 titles, which included three La Liga crowns and four Champions League triumphs as well.

He also reiterated that Madristas will always remember him and he'll retain a special place in the hearts of every Real Madrid fan.

This move will put Ronaldo among the most expensive transfers in world football once again and Real Madrid have also made a profit of around €25m on their star man. Ronaldo is expected to go through with a medical with the Bianconeri sometime next week and will sign the contract probably before Juventus begin their pre-season. He could also make his Juventus debut ironically against Real Madrid on 4th August, when the two sides meet once again in the International Champions Cup.
