The Italian champions are in search of a new tactician to replace the outgoing Massimiliano Allegri.

Juventus are in search of a manager. After announcing the end of the five-year bittersweet spell of Massimiliano Allegri reign as The Old Lady's manager, the ones from the hierarchy of the club of Turin feel that the Italian tactician isn't just enough for them to attain UEFA Champions League, something which they have failed at since last winning it in 1996.

Allegri did come close to winning it twice, first in the 2014-15 season against Barcelona and then in the 2016-17 season against Real Madrid. But the Italian manager has been left feeling hard done by the Juventus Sporting Director Fabio Paratici and Vice-President Pavel Nedved.

Nevertheless, the search for the new manager is on and we at Khel Now take a look at the five potential replacements.

5. Gian Piero Gasperini

Gian Piero Gasperini is currently managing Atlanta BC. Once described by Jose Mourinho as the manager who put him at unease in Serie A the most, Gasperini is a highly underappreciated manager in the Italian circuit. A youth product of Juventus, Gasperini started his managerial career with the then Serie C1 side Crotone, impressing everyone in the three-year spell, winning his side promotion to Serie B.

He then joined the Serie B side Genoa, a team where he broke into the national limelight by winning the Rossoblu promotion to Serie A in his first season. It is then with Genoa in Serie A when Gasperini earned the plaudits from the likes of Mourinho, by winning Genoa their first Europa League entry in two decades.

Gian Piero Gasperini: Tactics Explained

Gasperini now with Atlanta as well, has made a mid-table club play like winners. The club has, under the stern management of Gasperini, qualified for Europe in their first season under him and now look set to play Champions League football for the first time ever.

While the manager has been successful with midtable clubs, his time with the only 'big club' he managed (Inter Milan) wasn't a successful one, and there would surely be doubts among the Juventus officials on how much success Gasperini can bring to Turin.

4. Filippo Inzaghi

Filippo Inzaghi is a two-time Champions League winner with AC Milan. So the Italian has the low-down of how to win Europe's most coveted title. Inzaghi, like Gasperini, has done well with the lower division ambitious clubs of Italian football.

Filippo played for Juventus from 1997 till 2001

Inzaghi was appointed as the caretaker manager of AC Milan after the sacking of Clarence Seedorf. Inzaghi brought life back to the AC Milan side and excited the fans by making his side play great attacking football. But the Milan boss didn't decide to continue with Inzaghi post the season.

After a year's sabbatical, Inzaghi joined Venezia and earned the team promotion from the third division to the second in his first season. The second season, he went on to play the playoffs for the first division football after finishing fifth. Venezia won the playoffs and were promoted to Serie A.

Inzaghi then joined Bologna this season, where he was sacked before the season could end, after not being able to produce satisfactory results for the Rossoblu. Now the Italian is said to be one of the names who could lead Juventus next season.

3. Antonio Conte

Another manager rumoured to join Juventus is Antonio Conte. Conte has been a Juventus player before leading them to three consecutive Scudettos as their manager.

Conte is one of the biggest names of the managerial world, having been at the helm of the Italian national team and Chelsea FC before going on a sabbatical. Conte is someone who knows the club better than anyone else, having spent a majority of his football career with the Old Lady.

The manager has the cojones to speak directly to the bosses and ask for the players he would want for building the Champions League winning team. And the bosses would listen to his demands as well given the success he has achieved with Juventus and Chelsea.

Conte has already coached Juventus for three years from 2011 to 2014

Despite every piece falling into the right places, Conte joining Juventus is highly unlikely given the rumours claiming him already having agreed to join their rivals Inter Milan.

2. Jose Mourinho

Another manager linked with both Inter Milan and Juventus, Jose Mourinho has been unemployed since getting the sack from Manchester United.

The Portuguese showman has the most interesting CV amongst all those rumoured. Mourinho, with Inter Milan, in 2010 achieved what no other manager has ever achieved with an Italian team - the treble. Hence the manager knows what it needs for an Italian team to go all the way in Europe.

The Portuguese tactician is also said to be wanted by the Juventus talisman Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo is reported to have given the Juventus bosses the list of players and the manager he wishes to have at Juventus next season in a bid to win the Champions League with the Italian champions.

Mourinho although isn't very fond of Juventus and mocked the fans of the Turin club in the recently concluded season after a Champions League victory with Manchester United. And his love for 'Inter family' also potentially makes it difficult for the Juve fans to have him.

1. Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is linked with a return to Serie A with Juventus. The former Napoli manager is said to be on the verge of receiving the sack, which if reports are to be believed, would happen regardless of what happens in the Europa League final.

Maurizio Sarri has been a manager in Italian football since 1990. He has managed teams of different divisions right from Serie D to Serie A. But the most notable work of Sarri was with Napoli where he rose to continental fame. The manager made Napoli the undisputed second best team of Italian football, after Juventus.

But with the sacking of Sarri and the 'Sarri ball' not working in England to the effect it had in Italy, Maurizio Sarri would himself want to head back. The manager though has maintained that he wants to continue with Chelsea and has been supported by many pundits for the work he has done for the Blues.

But the fans of the London club wouldn't want to continue with the Italian if the possibilities of a reunion with club legend Frank Lampard are there.
