The former Benfica man joined Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a then record fee for a goalkeeper.

Ederson had an instant impact with some stunning saves, and coming into the limelight for his exquisite long passes. In his first season, he made the goalie position his own and won the Premier League title with a solid-looking City side.

3. Gianluigi Buffon (Parma-Juventus) - £32.6m

Considered a fortune during those days, Juventus paid quite a huge sum for young Parma prodigy Gianluigi Buffon in 2001. Although, there were critics, the move turned out to be one of the best transfer deals in football history with the Italian legend spending 17 years with The Old Lady and leading them through an era of dominance.

Buffon won a number of medals with Juventus and even won the World Cup in 2006 with Italy. Although the Calciopoli scandal turned out to be a stain on his Juve career, his heroics, on the whole, have overshadowed that phase.

2. Alisson Becker (AS Roma-Liverpool) - £65m

Liverpool broke the transfer record held by Ederson when they sealed a deal for Roma's Alisson.

The Brazilian number one has come to England with a reputation of being the "Messi" of goalkeepers. Currently 25-years-old, the Brazilian shot-stopper still has a lot of years to become one of the best in the world and if the move works out, the Merseyside outfit could finally challenge for titles again.

1. Kepa Arrizabalaga (Athletic Bilbao-Chelsea) - £71.6m

Chelsea broke the goalkeeper transfer record last night with the signing of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao for a massive £71.6m deal where they triggered the 23-year old's release clause.
