The venue is already being regarded as among the best in the world.
Daniel Levy, the chairman of Tottenham Hotspur, believes that the new stadium he built is tailor-made for UEFA Champions League. The 62,062-seat multi-purpose stadium is the new home of his team which has just become accessible.
It has seen three senior games including their famous first-leg win over Manchester City last week in the Champions League. The venue is already being regarded as among the best in the World and the owner is keen on staging the finals of the most prestigious tournaments.
He has publically put in his interest to host the NFL’s Super Bowl — which has never taken place outside the US — having already agreed a deal to be host two regular season games every year for the next decade.
Speaking to Standard Sport, Levy said, “We have been delighted with the reaction from our fans and all visitors since we officially opened our new home two weeks ago. Our aim was always to create an iconic multi-use venue capable of hosting world-class events."
“We have the top UEFA stadium status, which means the venue is fit to stage any European football event, and we believe the stadium’s extensive capabilities, particularly the flexibility of having two surfaces, mean we can host a vast range of world-class sporting and entertainment events."
“We’d be open to having conversations if the relevant organisations were interested in using our stadium."
He continued, “We want this venue to be visited by millions throughout the year and having secured such big attractions in Tottenham like Premier League football, Saracens and the NFL, this can only boost the economy in London.”
Although the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium won't be able to host the next season's UCL final as the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul has been picked for next year. Bayern Munich's Allianz Arena and Zenit's Gazprom Arena in Saint Petersburg are in contention for the 2021 spot.
