We maybe need to find a different way of playing- Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives injury update
It will be a big blow for the Red Devils if they lose Martial and Lingard on long-term injuries.
Paris Saint-Germain, on Tuesday 12th February 2018, ran past Manchester United in quite a fashion at Old Trafford, in their first leg of the Round of 16 fixture of the UEFA Champions League. Quick goals from French duo Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe sealed the deal for the French giants. This was the first ever official clash between the two giants.
Manchester United were favourites to win it at their home but the Ligue 1 side put in a good display without the likes of Neymar and Edinson Cavani. Though late in the first half, United suffered injuries to two crucial players which hindered their progress in the game.
Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard limped off at half time with Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez coming in for them respectively. Talking about the injuries, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said, "You can't give that [the injuries] as a reason [why we lost] because we have players like Mata and Sanchez to come on and they're quality players,” Solskjaer told BT Sport.
He further added, “But, of course, Jesse and Anthony, they give us something. Let’s hope they’re not too serious."
He also quipped, ”They’re muscle injuries, so we’ll just have to wait a couple of days."
No doubt that Solskjaer is focused on pace and the use of young guns up ahead. As it was evident in the first five minutes of the game, the front three were pressing high, putting pressure on the defence to stretch it.

"Jesse and Anthony are big parts of our squad and when they went out, in the second half we didn't have enough movement,” Ole added at his press conference.
