GPL 2019-20: Signals, Guardian Angel play out goalless draw

The visitors remained undefeated in the league till now.
Guardian Angel Sports Club and Corps of Signals played out a goalless draw in the Goa Profesional League at Duler Stadium on Saturday.
Corps of Signals head coach Eban Mesquita made three changes to his side which lost to Calangute Association in the last match. Om Prakash, L. Nokul Singh and newly signed defender Michael Silva made the cut for Corps of Signals whereas Agnelo Coalco and Nigerian defender Benjamin Eniwo were the two changes for Guardian Angel.
Guardian Angel came close to scoring twice in the first 20 minutes. However, aimless shooting from Kimran Fernandes and Ghanaian striker Bamba Musah Moctar restricted the scoreline.
[KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]The Curchorem-based side had another great opportunity in the 29th minute when Willian Niasso curled the ball in the box to Agnelo Colaco. However, Colaco's shot sailed over the crossbar.
Guardian Angel’ defender William was in the action in the 37th minute once again, when he made a darting run on the right flank. A nutmeg on Signals defender Om to enter the box, but his powerful strike from brilliantly blocked by Signals keeper Binu Purushothaman.
Only Chance For Corps of Signals
Corps of Signals’ only chance to take the lead came in the added minutes of the first half. Vishnu Chhetri made a near perfect through pass to Nokul in the box, but his shot was brilliantly blocked by Guardian Angel's goalkeeper Pratheesh Veettil.
At the half time, Corps of Signals coach Eban made all three substitutions as Praful Aurin, Aditya D’Crus and Melroy Moura made way for Ankan Dawn, Pawan Thakur and Thingnam Roshan Singh. Beneston Barretto replaced Nigerian defender Benjamin for Guardian Angel.
Guardian Angel had a chance to take the lead just after half time when Beneston made a swift move from the halfway line and found Musah. Musah cut past two defenders in the box and squared it to Gilbert Oliveira, whose powerful shot was blocked by Corps of Signals’ custodian Binu.
Signals had to play with 10 men in the last 25 minutes as their substitute midfielder Roshan was injured and went out of the pitch.

A few minutes later, Musah had a chance to provide his side with the lead when he dribbled past three defenders in the box but Corps of Signals’ defender Romanse MS dealt with the danger in time.
Beneston had another opportunity to seal the deal in the 85th minute when he received the just in front of the goal, however, Corps of Signals’ keeper Binu made an excellent block in a one-on-one situation.
In the added time, Guardian Angel defender William saw his shot fisted over the crossbar by Corps of Signals' goalkeeper Binu.
