The Highlanders won only two games under the Croatian's stewardship all season.
Khel Now can reveal that Croatian head coach Robert Jarni has been sacked by NorthEast United FC after their 3-3 draw against Jamshedpur FC on Monday night. The move comes as the Highlanders are languishing in ninth spot in the points table, with merely 13 points from 15 matches in the league this season. Khalid Jamil, who is currently the head of academy for NEUFC will take over the managerial responsibilities of the first-team on an interim basis in the wake of the Croatian's dismissal. [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] NorthEast United FC have emerged victorious in only two encounters so far and have endured a persistently disappointing campaign. The effects of the same were visible on the players on the ground too, as their shoulders could increasingly be seen dropping due to arguably the sheer lack of quality and the ability to churn out the three points on a regular basis over the course of the last three months. Robert Jarni had assumed the services of the club ahead of this season after Eelco Schattorie’s departure to Kerala Blasters FC. It should be noted that NorthEast are currently on a 11-match winless streak. Their previous victory was as long back as in the first week of November, when they notched a 1-0 success against the wooden spoon claimers, Hyderabad FC. Since then, it has been a bleak run for the club and it wouldn’t be an overstatement to say that many of the football followers in the country did see this move coming in the near future. However, this scenario sums up NorthEast’s season so far, which they entered with high hopes considering the fact that they had managed to finish in the fourth spot in the 2018-19 ISL campaign.Related News
