The 38-year-old will speak at the Global Sports Week Paris.

India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra has been confirmed as a speaker at Global Sports Week Paris. He will be joining a highly prestigious international line-up of speakers gathering from February 1-5, 2021 at what is billed as the ‘rendez-vous of the year’ for the world sports economy.

His appearance as part of the Global Sports Week Paris’ international programme – streamed through a central studio at the iconic Eiffel Tower – will come at the start of a landmark year for the international sport which will include the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

In addition to his personal story based on a career that has lasted over twenty years and spanned five Olympic Games, Abhinav Bindra will discuss how India is becoming a new powerhouse in international sports.

He will also introduce the initiatives of the Abhinav Bindra Foundation, seeking to bring global best practice to the Indian sporting ecosystem, through sports science, mental wellness and high-performance sport.

At Global Sports Week Paris, Bindra will be joining a selection of renowned figures reflecting the event organisers’ ambition to offer an unprecedented international platform for sport, at the intersection of business and society.

Organisers have embraced the key theme of the event – ‘reinvention in action’ – by introducing a new, multi-country connected format for 2021. It includes a mix of physical and digital events across six future Olympic host cities – Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Milan, Dakar and Los Angeles. All the international venues will be linked digitally through the Global Sports Week central studio at the heart of the iconic Eiffel Tower.

The event is returning after a successful inaugural edition held in February 2020 at the Louvre in Paris and will be again organised under the high patronage of Mr Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, and with the additional patronage of UNESCO.
