Tokyo Olympics Day 10 Preview: Sindhu and men's hockey team in action

India can potentially win multiple Olympics medals on Sunday.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are in the second week since the mega event began on July 23. Day 10 of the Tokyo Olympics is shaping up to be an important day for the Indian contingent. Athletes are trying their best to add to the silver medal won by Mirabai Chanu in the women’s weightlifting event.
Lovlina Borgohain has secured a medal after reaching the semifinals in boxing. One of the highlights among the star-studded action on Sunday will be the men’s hockey match against Great Britain while PV Sindhu will look to clinch the bronze medal in badminton.
Here is a look at the events in which the Indian athletes will be in action on Sunday, Day 10 of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Hockey - Men’s - India vs Great Britain (Quarterfinal)
All eyes will be on this game between India and Great Britain in the quarterfinals of men's hockey. India’s medal hopes are rising in the event after Graham Reid’s men has displayed inspiring performance in the Pool A fixtures. They come into this game with better form after collecting 12 points from five games (four wins, one loss).

On the other hand, Great Britain had a mediocre outing in the Pool B matches. They secured two wins, two draws and a defeat, finishing third with eight points. The winner of this match will play either Belgium or Spain in the next round.
The match begins at 5:30 PM IST.
Equestrian - Eventing cross country team and individual
India’s sole representative in equestrian, Fouaad Mirza will again be in action on Day 10 of the Tokyo Olympics. He will participate in the eventing cross country team and individual event.
The event begins at 4:15 AM in the morning.
Boxing - Men’s Heavyweight (+91 kg)
India’s Satish Kumar will be fighting World No. 1 Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals of the men’s heavyweight category. Jalolov will have a great chance of assuring himself a bronze medal if he wins the bout on Sunday.
This will be a major achievement for Satish as he is the first Indian to represent the country in this weight category. The event begins at 9:36 AM IST.
Badminton - Women's singles - bronze medal match
PV Sindhu was beaten by Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying in the semifinals on Saturday. She has now advanced to the bronze medal match, where she will face He Bingjiao of China. If she manages to beat the Chinese shuttler, she will be winning the bronze medal in women's badminton in Tokyo Olympics. The match starts at 5 PM IST.
Golf - Men's Individual Stroke Play Medal Round
Indian pair of Anirban Lahiri and Udayan Mane played in the Men's Individual Stroke Play qualifications in order to qualify for the finals (medal round) on Day 10 of the Tokyo Olympics. Round 4 will continue on Sunday as well and they will look to book a place in the final. The medal round will take place later on the day. The event starts at 4 AM in the morning.
