List of state government rewards for Tokyo Olympics-bound Indian athletes

The athletes will be recompensed if they win a medal at the quadrennial event.
Only a few days left for the beginning of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. After a being postponed for a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, all eyes will be on the mega event in this edition. A record 121 Indian athletes, coming from various states, have qualified for the quadrennial event and will be looking forward to winning a medal in Tokyo.
Government rewards have been encourage these Tokyo Olympics-bound players and appreciate their hard work. The athletes, who manage to win a medal during the upcoming Olympic Games, will get these rewards.
Let's take a look at the rewards various state governments have announced for their respective athletes.

Delhi
Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal announced a cash prize of ₹3 crore for the athletes who manage to win a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. The silver medallists will get ₹2 crore and ₹1 crore will be given for winning the bronze at the Olympics.
There is also prize money of ₹10 lakh for the coach who helped and supported the player in winning the coveted medal. Sarthak Bhambri, Deepak Kumar, Yashaswini Deswal and Manika Batra are the athletes from Delhi who are participating at the Olympics. Deepak and Yashaswini are part of the Indian shooting contingent while Sarthak is in the relay team. Manika will take part in table tennis.
Haryana
Over the years, several athletes have participated in the Olympics from Haryana and also managed to bring laurel for their country. In return, the state and national governments have always rewarded them with great prizes.
The Haryana government has announced a huge amount of ₹6 crore for the athletes who win the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Silver and bronze medallists will get ₹4 crore and ₹2.50 crore respectively.
Uttar Pradesh
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath announced a prize of ₹6 crore for winning the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. he also announced ₹4 crore for the silver medallists and ₹2 crore for winning the bronze. He also announced a cash prize of ₹10 lakh to all the participants from Uttar Pradesh who are taking part in the Tokyo Olympics.
Odisha and Chhattisgarh
Both state governments have announced a reward of ₹6 crore for the gold medallist in the Tokyo Olympics. Odisha will also give ₹4 crore to the silver medallist and ₹2.5 crore to the bronze medallist. Along with it, the state has also announced that ₹15 lakh will be given to all participants from the state at the Tokyo Olympics.
Jharkhand
Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren announced a reward of ₹2 crore to the players who will win a gold medal from his state. He also announced ₹1 crore and ₹75 lakhs rewards for winning the silver and bronze medals respectively at the Tokyo Olympics. Deepika Kumari, Salima Tete and Nikki Pradhan are the athletes from the state who are participating at the Tokyo Olympics.
Deepika is an archer while Salima and Nikki are part of the Indian women's hockey team.
Maharashtra
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced a cash reward of ₹1 crore for the athlete who wins an Olympic gold medal, followed by ₹75 lakh and ₹50 lakh for the silver and bronze medal respectively.
Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy awarded all athletes going for the Tokyo Olympics with ₹5 lakh each. The CM also allotted two acres of land to ace shuttler PV Sindhu for setting up a badminton academy and school free of cost.
Gujarat and Karnataka
Both state governments have announced cash prizes for all state-bound athletes who return with a medal. ₹5 crore will be awarded for winning the gold medal, whereas, ₹3 crore and ₹2 crore will be rewarded for winning the silver and bronze medals.
Himachal Pradesh
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced a sum of ₹2 crore for the athletes of Himachal Pradesh who would win a Tokyo Olympics gold medal. Similarly, ₹1 crore will be awarded for winning the silver while ₹50 lakh will go to the bronze medallist.
Manipur
The Government of Manipur will provide ₹25 lakh to all the Tokyo Olympics qualified athletes from the state. Also the government will award ₹1.20 crore for the gold medallist, ₹1 crore for the silver medallist and ₹75 lakh for the bronze medallist.
Mizoram
The Government of Mizoram will provide a cash prize of ₹25 lakh to the young Indian women's hockey star Lalremsiami for participating at the Tokyo Olympics. She is also the first female Olympian from the state. ₹10 lakh has been given to her mother and the rest will be given to her after the Olympics.
Punjab
Punjab Sports Minister, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi announced a huge cash prize for all the Tokyo Olympics-bound athletes from the state. He said ₹2.25 crore will be given for winning the gold, ₹1.5 crore for silver and ₹1 crore to clinch the bronze. In addition to it, the government also announced ₹5 lakh to all athletes from the state to encourage them.
Rajasthan
CM Ashok Gehlot announced big prizes for the Tokyo Olympics-bound athletes from Rajasthan. He announced that the state government will reward ₹3 crore for winning the Tokyo Olympics gold. On the other hand, the silver medallist will fetch ₹2 crore while a bronze medallist will get ₹1 crore.
Tamil Nadu
Chief Minister MK Stalin announced a large amount of cash prize for the Tokyo Olympics medallists of Tamil Nadu. He announced ₹3 crore will be given to a gold medallist, ₹2 crore for winning the silver and ₹1 crore for the bronze.
West Bengal
The Sports Ministry of West Bengal announced a cash prize for the athletes who manage to win a medal. ₹25 lakh will be given for winning the gold. Meanwhile, ₹15 lakh and ₹10 lakh are reserved for silver and bronze medal winners.
Chandigarh
The sports administration of Chandigarh has announced a cash prize of ₹6 crore for winning the gold, followed by ₹4 crore for the silver and ₹2 crore for the bronze medals.
Apart from the states, the Union Government has also decided to felicitate and give separate cash prizes for the athletes, ₹75 lakh to the gold medallists, ₹50 lakh for the silver and ₹30 lakhs to the bronze medallists.
