Hockey: India vs New Zealand Head to Head
The Men in Blue enjoy an upper hand in the games involving the two teams.
India men’s hockey team, on their quest for a ninth Olympic gold medal, have begun their campaign at the Paris Games 2024 with an opening win against New Zealand on July 27, Saturday. The Men in Blue are the most successful team ever in the Olympics, having won eight gold medals – 1928, 1932, 1936, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1964 and 1980.
Team India led by Harmanpreet Singh features five players who made their Olympic debut this time. The captain is representing India for the third time in the Olympic Games, having made his bow at the 2016 edition. Speaking of New Zealand, they will need to make a comeback in their next match against heavyweights Belgium.
However, the team has encountered India seven times in the World Cup, clinching victories in three matches, losing three, and drawing one. India and New Zealand are placed in Pool B at Paris Olympics 2024, that includes reigning champion Belgium, Australia, Argentina, and Ireland.
