Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere

The Youth Olympics 2026 are currently being held in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13. The ongoing edition marks the first time the youth games are being held in an African nation. India have sent 17 athletes to the games across 11 sports.

Last time around, at the 2018 Youth Olympics, India sent 46 athletes, who captured 13 medals across disciplines, including three gold, nine silver, and one bronze. With fewer athletes participating in the 2026 edition, it would be tough for the nation to break last time’s medal record.

Shooting has given the nation the most medals over the last three editions, with four (two golds and two silvers), while weightlifting has been second (one gold and one silver). At the 2026 Youth Olympics, India has sent the smallest-ever contingent due to the delay and a reduced number of sports.
