Report: Jyothi Yarraji stopped at Delhi airport and asked for return tickets prior to her travel for Paris Olympics 2024 preparation

Jyothi Yarraji is the first Indian athlete to participate in the 100m hurdles event at the Olympics.
Indian track and field athlete Jyothi Yarraji was reportedly stopped at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, ahead of her departure for Poland earlier today.
Yarraji was asked for her return tickets by the staff and the immigration officer. The 24-year-old was traveling to Poland for practice ahead of the Paris Olympics 2024, scheduled to be held later this month.
As per reports, her flight was expected to depart at 8 AM earlier today from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. She was only allowed to board the flight after document verification by the immigration officer and the airport staff.

However, the process caused delays and inconvenience for the Indian track and field athlete. In addition, the tweet was later deleted by its user. Jyothi Yarraji, who secured a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics via world rankings, has become the first Indian athlete to participate in the 100m hurdles event.

Despite securing a spot in the Paris Olympics via rankings, Yarraji was keen to breach the qualification mark of 12.77s. At the World University Games and Motonet GP Jyvaskyla meet in Finland, she clocked a time of 12.78s.

On both occasions, she missed the qualification mark by 0.01s. Jyothi Yarraji also won a silver medal at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games with a clocked timing of 12.91secs.
In the last two years, the Indian athlete has broken numerous records and has answered all the questions, that were once against her. Thus, Yarraji is one of India’s top medal hopes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
