Los Angeles LA Olympics 2028

Cricket will return to the Summer Games after 128 years.

The schedule for the LA Olympics 2028 was officially announced on Wednesday, November 12. The Games will take place from July 14 to 30, 2028, with Los Angeles serving as the host city. The action is also scheduled to spread across the Greater Los Angeles area and Oklahoma City.

Notably, it will be the biggest Games ever, featuring 36 sports and 51 disciplines in 49 venues. The games like baseball and softball will be returning to the competition after their last appearance at Tokyo 2020.

Cricket also marks the return to the LA Olympics 2028 after 128 years, with the sport’s last appearance at Paris 1900. A separate men’s and women’s T20 competition will be held for their respective sets of medals.

Meanwhile, flag football, squash and six mixed-gender events will make their Olympic debut in 2028.

It is worth mentioning that the female athletes will outnumber the male athletes for the first time in the showpiece event. The female athlete quota spots (5,655) will be a little more than the male quota spots (5,543).

It is mainly due to the increase in the women’s soccer teams from 12 to 16, the addition of two women’s teams in water polo, and an extra category in women’s boxing.

The fans can register for the event from January 2026 on LA28.org, while keeping in mind that the dates/schedule for the events are subject to change.

Let’s take a look at the full schedule of the much-awaited LA Olympics 2028.
