Paris Olympics 2024 Day 1 Results: Manu Bhaker reaches historic final, Indian hockey team beat New Zealand

It was a mixed day for the Indian contingent.

The Indian contingent was in action on Day 1 (27 July) at the Paris Olympics 2024. It was a day full of disappointing results from the shooting event where India was expected to do well. There were positive results to take away for the Indian fans from men’s hockey and badminton events.

Harmeet Desai started off with a win in the table tennis event while Manu Bhaker was the sole athlete who impressed and secured qualification into the final round of the 10m Air Pistol Women’s event, keeping hopes of a medal alive. All eyes will be on the 22-year-old as she shoulders huge expectations and takes part in the final event, hoping to secure a place on the podium and open India’s medal account at the Paris Olympics.

Indian athletes were in action across events like rowing, badminton, table tennis, shooting and more as the pace picks up at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris France.
