Paris Olympics 2024: India schedule for today Day 11 (August 6)
Reigning Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra will begin his campaign on Tuesday.
India had multiple closecalls on day 10 at Paris Olympics 2024. Lakshya Sen came close to winning the bronze medal against Lee Zii Jia but lost momentum mid match. The 22-year-old took the opening game and was leading at the start of the second game but the Malaysian shuttler decided to change his fortune.
In shooting, Maheshwari Chauhan and Anantjeet Naruka qualified for India’s first ever mixed skeet bronze medal match against China. The duo had a rough start which gave China the lead as they won by a single point. The final score line was 44-43 with the pair of Lyu Jianlin and Jiang Yiting finishing strong in the match.
There was heartbreak for India in Wrestling as Nisha Dahiya suffered a knee injury in her quarterfinal bout. Dahiya was leading 8-1 against DPR Korea’s Sol Gum Pak but the injury restricted her movement. The scoreboard read 10-8 in favour of Yanan and now Dahiya might get a repechage round if her opponent reaches the final. She will hope that her condition improves by then.
Looking next to day 11, defending champion from India, Neeraj Chopra will be in action in men’s Javelin throw qualification round along with Kishore Jena. Vishnu Saravaran and Nethra Kumanan will in action in the sailing medal races and star wrestler Vinesh Phogat will begin her campaign.
The Indian men’s hockey team will face Germany in the semifinals as they seek a historic win. The men’s table tennis will start their team event and will face China in round of 16. Look at India’s schedule on Day 11 of Paris Olympics 2024.
