Neeraj Chopra will be in action in men’s javelin throw final on Thursday.

India has been handed back-to-back heartbreaks on Day 12 of Paris Olympics 2024. First Vinesh Phogat, India’s first woman wrestler to reach the gold medal match, is disqualified from the competition and then another of India’s top wrestling hope, Antim Panghal, crashed out hours later via technical superiority.

The race-walking mixed team of Priyanka Goswami and Suraj Panwar didn’t even manage to finish their race. Jyothi Yarraji, India’s star hurdler, races an unlikely 13s race and will have a final chance via repechage. High jumper Sarvesh Kushare and javelin ace Annu Rani crashed out after a below-par performance. The table tennis contention for India also ended as well, with the women’s team crashing out after losing to Germany 1-3.

On Day 13, defending champion Neeraj Chopra will be in action while Jyothi Yarraji will have a final chance to make it to the historic semi-final. Grapplers Anshu Malik and Aman Sehrawat will aim to bring India’s first wrestling medal at Paris 2024. Meanwhile, Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok will continue their campaign in golf.
