Paris Olympics 2024: India schedule for today Day 9 (August 4)
Lovlina Borgohain could assure herself of a medal on Day 9.
India has a mixed day on Day 8 of Paris Olympics 2024. Manu Bhaker missed on a medal by whisker and finished fourth in 25m women’s pistol event. Deepika Kumari reached back-to-back quarterfinals at Olympics. She went down against second seeded Nam Suhyeon 4-6. Bhajan Kaur lost in shootoff.
Looking ahead to Day 9, all eyes are on badminton star Lakshya Sen as he faces defending champion Viktor Axelsen. A win would make Sen only the second Indian after PV Sindhu to reach an Olympic gold medal match. Boxer Lovlina Borgohain is also one victory away from securing back-to-back Olympic medals.
Other events to watch include the men’s hockey team’s crucial match against Great Britain for a semi-final spot, and shooters Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveeer Sidhu competing for finals berths. In athletics, Jeswin Aldrin and Parul Chaudhury aim to qualify for their respective finals.
