Paris Olympics 2024: Updated India schedule for July 25
Archery is the first event to commence for India at Paris Olympics 2024.
In the lead-up to Paris Olympics 2024, archery will kick off before the official opening ceremony, starting on July 25. Six Indian archers—three men and three women—are set to compete in both individual and team events, aiming to secure India’s first-ever Olympic medal in archery. The event will begin with the individual ranking rounds, ahead of the opening ceremony.
India’s veterans Tarundeep Rai and Deepika Kumari will lead the six-member archery contingent for the Paris Olympics 2024. This is the first time, since the London 2012 Olympics, that India has qualified in all five categories in archery. In the last edition in Tokyo, Deepika Kumari, men’s team, and mixed team reached the quarterfinals in the archery event in the Tokyo Olympics where they lost to Korea. While Atanu Das lost in the third Round.
The Indian men had a taste of victory earlier this year when they defeated reigning world champions South Korea for gold at the World Cup Stage 1 in Shanghai to raise hopes of a similar success in Paris.
Archery at the Paris Olympics will take place from July 25 to August 4 at the Esplanade des Invalids, where five gold medals will be contested across various categories: men’s and women’s individual, men’s and women’s team, and mixed team events.
Let’s look at India’s full schedule July 25, 2024.
