Full list of Malaysia athletes who have already qualified for Paris Olympics 2024

18 Malaysian athletes have qualified so far for the Sporting Carnival.
The Paris Olympics 2024 is less than two months away and some athletes have already qualified for the Sport Carnival. Since less than 90 days are left all the athletes have started gearing up for the event and aim to qualify for the Olympics and to represent their country. In the previous edition, 30 athletes across 10 sports qualified for the Tokyo Olympics from Malaysia. They won two medals (1 Silver and 1 Bronze).
So far, only 18 athletes in eight sports have qualified for the Olympic Games. Out of these 18 athletes, 10 are male and eight are female. The National Sports Council (NSC) hopes to send at least 30 athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Malaysia’s best chance of winning medals is in badminton. Apart from badminton, Malaysia can win medals in cycling. Aaron Chia/Soh Woo Yik, Lee Zii Jia, and Azizulhasni Awang are the medal hopefuls.
Ariana Nur Dania Mohamad Zairi secured an archery quota for her country by winning the Asian Continental Qualifier against Uzbekistan. Nur Aisyah Mohamad Zubir became the first female cyclist to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics in the road race category. Bertrand Rhodict Lises secured a diving quota by finishing 10th at the Diving World Championships held in Japan.
Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif obtained the sailing quota by winning a gold medal in the Women’s Laser Radial event at the Asian Games.
Johnathan Wong clinched the shooting quota at the Asian Championships held in 2023. Following the release of the final UCI Olympic rankings, three Malaysian track cyclists have qualified. Azizulhasni Awang, Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom, and Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri are the athletes who achieved Olympic qualification
Eight Malaysian shuttlers have booked tickets to Paris after cutting the Olympic rankings. Lee Zii Jia, Aaron Chia/Soh Woo Yik, Goh Jin Wei, Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan, and Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei have secured the qualification. The weightlifter Aniq Kasdan also secured the Olympic berth by finishing in the top 10 slots in his weight category.
