The Paris Olympics 2024 will see athletes from Malaysia competing in 11 events. The Malaysian contingent will have 26 athletes with equal representation among men and women. Malaysia will be participating at the Olympics for the 17th time.

Malaysia made its Olympic debut at Melbourne in 1956. It has been competing at every edition since then with the exception of the 1980 Moscow Olympics.

A total of 26 athletes from the nation will try to secure the first gold medal at the games. Malaysia has so far won 13 medals in 16 editions. Their medal tally consists of eight silver and five bronze medals.

Badminton has been the major sport for Malaysia at the Olympics, with the nation recording nine medals in the event. Legendary shuttler Lee Chong Wei has so far been the most successful athlete from his nation at the Olympics. He is the only athlete from the country to win three Olympic medals, all being silver.

Malaysia will now hope to turn their luck during the Paris Olympics 2024. Their flagbearers are sailor Nur Shazrin Mohamad Latif and diver Bertrand Rhodict Lises.

Where and when will Paris Olympics 2024 take place?

The 2024 Paris Olympics will primarily be held around the city of Paris. A total of 35 venues will be used to host 329 events around Paris, Ile-de-region and other parts spread around the country.

Meanwhile, the opening ceremony will be held on July 26 at river Seine instead of the traditional stadium setup. Events such as Football and Rugby sevens will begin from July 24 while the rest of the events will begin a day later. The games will be concluded on August 11.
