Several athletics events reached their conclusions after an eventful day in Paris.

Paris Olympics 2024 is heading towards its business end with various disciplines reaching their conclusions. Athletics which attract huge crowds, have provided buckets of entertainment for the spectators tuning in from all corners of the world. The events offer a huge chunk of gold medals and the athletes from the participating nations are not leaving any stone unturned to collect them.

Valarie Allman added another gold to the USA’s tally by winning the women’s discus throw event, leaving China’s Bin Feng and Sandra Elkasevic settling for the silver and bronze respectively.

Caroline Marks also won gold for the USA after a magnificent performance in the women’s gold medal Match of the Surfing discipline, beating Tatiana Weston-Webb of Brazil to the top prize.

Over in the Women’s 5000m Final, Kenyan athletes secured the top two places on the podium with Beatrice Chebet and Faith Kipyegon winning the gold and silver respectively. The Women’s 800m Final saw Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson secure the gold medal ahead of Ethiopia’s Tsige Duguma (silver) and Kenya’s Mary Moraa (bronze).

At the end of Day 11, USA consolidated their place at the top of the medal tally, while China retained second place and Australia replaced hosts France in third. The host nation has dropped to fourth above Great Britain who is placed fifth.

Arisa Trew delivered the gold medal for Australia in the skateboarding discipline’s Women’s Park Final event, beating Japan’s Cocona Hiraki and Great Britain’s Sky Brown who settled for silver and bronze medals.

China were also among the medals as they took gold and silver in the Women’s 10m Platform Final event in diving. Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi finished in first and second while Rae Kim Mi took the bronze.
