Swimmers once again contributed multiple medals to their nations at Paris Olympics 2024.
The Paris Olympics 2024 saw hosts France finish fifth on the medal tally with 16 gold medals, 26 silvers and 22 bronze. Swimming was their most successful event as it produced four gold medals, 1 silver and two bronze.
Amongst those seven medals, five of them were single handedly delivered by Leon Marchand. He won four gold medals which was the most by any athlete at Paris Olympics 2024 and also one bronze.
Marchand competed in four individual events and two team events. The 22-year-old won gold in all his individual events, bronze in the relay men’s event and finished fourth in mixed relay. It was only his second Olympic appearance after Tokyo Olympics 2020. In Tokyo, he competed in four events and could not win a medal.
But this time, Marchand uplifted the spirit of France with his record breaking run in the pool. His first event was on July 28 and competed till August 4. Let’s have a look at his medal winning performances at the Paris Olympics 2024.
