He bagged the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics with a massive throw of 23.30m on his sixth and final attempt which was also a new Olympic record. In the final, he was much ahead of his competitors Joe Kovacs and Tom Walsh as they achieved best throws of 22.65 and 22.47m to collect the silver and bronze medals.

He will be in action during the men’s shot put qualifications, slated for August 2 at 6:10 PM GMT, where he will look to secure his place in the finals of the shot put taking place on August 3. Nevertheless, the world record holder will be heading into the competition as one of the favorites for yet another Olympic crown.

Scottie Scheffler (Golf – men’s individual stroke play)
