14-year-old swimmer, Dhinidhi Desinghu will be India’s youngest athlete at the 2024 Paris Games.
The 2024 Paris Olympics is set to be a global celebration of sport, bringing together top athletes from around the world. This massive event will feature competitors from 204 countries, all vying for glory across 32 different sports.
Paris, hosting the Olympics for the third time, is planning something special. Instead of the usual stadium setting, the opening ceremony will take place along the famous Seine river, offering a unique showcase of the city’s beauty.
One of the most interesting aspects of these Games is the wide range of ages among the athletes. On one end, we have 11-year-old Zheng Haohao from China, while at the other, 61-year-old Jill Irving from Canada will be competing. This shows that the Olympics truly welcome athletes of all ages, as long as they have the skills and determination to compete at the highest level.

Hezly Rivera (16 years)
Hezly Rivera, the youngest member of Team USA, secured her spot after a strong performance at the Olympic Trials, particularly excelling in beam and uneven bars.
Originally aiming for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, she seized an unexpected opportunity when injuries sidelined some of her teammates.
Sky Brown (16 years)
Sky Brown, returning to the Olympics after winning bronze in Tokyo at 13, has overcome significant challenges. Despite a severe training injury resulting in multiple skull fractures, she qualified for Paris with an impressive score of 91.93 in the qualifying event in Skateboarding. Brown’s resilience and skills make her a strong contender for another medal.
Fay De Fazio Ebert (14 years)
14-year-old Canadian skateboarder Fay De Fazio Ebert discovered her passion for the sport at eight. After narrowly missing the 2020 Olympics, she’s now a top competitor, having won gold at the 2023 Santiago Games. Ebert’s journey showcases the rapid rise of young talent in skateboarding.
Dhinidhi Desinghu (14 years)
Also 14, Indian swimmer Dhinidhi Desinghu aims to make history by winning her country’s first Olympic medal in swimming. Initially afraid of water, Desinghu’s dedication led her to break national records and become a rising star in Indian aquatics.
Zheng Haohao (11 years)
The youngest athlete in the 2024 Paris Olympics is 11-year-old Chinese skateboarder Zheng Haohao. Her path to Olympic qualification involved overcoming numerous challenges, including injuries and tight schedules.
Zheng’s composure under pressure was evident when she scored an impressive 72.6 points in her final qualifying round.
