Closing ceremony promises a cultural feast of Paris.
The Paris Paralympics 2024 is ending today with a big party at Stade de France, wrapping up 11 days of amazing sports that wowed people worldwide.
The closing show will mix Paralympic traditions with a French twist, putting the spotlight on France’s famous dance music. Twenty-four DJs and artists will pump up the crowd with their beats.
Along with the usual stuff like speeches and handing over the Paralympic flag, there’ll be lots of music acts. Some of the performers include jazz piano player Matthew Whitaker, violin player and singer Gaelynn Lea, and rapper-athlete Garnett Silver-Hall. Word on the street is that music star Anderson .Paak might show up too, which would be pretty cool.
The show will also give a sneak peek at the next Paralympics in Los Angeles in 2028. Actress Ali Stroker will sing the American national anthem to mark this handover.
Thomas Jolly, the guy in charge of planning all the big Olympic and Paralympic shows, is expected to make it a really special night that everyone will remember.
