India added four medals on day 4.

India grabbed two more medals on Sunday at the Paris Paralympics 2024, boosting their overall medal count. Preethi Pal made history by bagging a bronze in the Women’s 200m T35 sprint, while high jumper Nishad Kumar leaped to a silver medal.

Pal, already a trailblazer as India’s first Paralympic sprinter to medal, clocked in at 30.01 seconds for her second bronze of the Games. Meanwhile, Kumar cleared 2.04 meters in the men’s high jump, securing India’s seventh-ever Paralympic medal in the event.

The good news kept coming in para badminton. Nitesh Kumar, Suhas Yathiraj and Thulasimathi Murugesanare guaranteed at least silver after reaching their respective finals. Meanwhile, as many as five Indians will fight for the bronze medal.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Some Indian athletes faced setbacks in para shooting, para badminton and para archery events, failing to advance to later stages.
