India sent 84 athletes to Paris Paralympics 2024.

The Paris Paralympics 2024 took place at Paris, France from August 28 to September 8. After the blockbuster performance in Tokyo, the Indian team exceeded expectations as it breached the 25-medal mark for the first time at Paris Paralympics 2024. The historic achievement by the athletes is a testament of their hard work and passion.

India sent 84 athletes including 52 men and 32 women across 12 sports. This was the first instance of Indian contingent having more than 55 representatives at the Paralympic games.

The Indian contingent had won 19 medals in the previous edition at Tokyo with five gold, 8 silver and 6 bronze. The Paris Paralympics 2024 saw few Tokyo medallists making their way into the podium again.

India won five medals in the para badminton bettering the Tokyo medal tally of four medals. Shooting produced the first gold in the edition thanks to Avani Lekhara. Para athletics has been always a strong point for India as Preethi Pal became first Indian track athlete to win a Paralympic medal.

The Indian athletes crossed significant milestones and broke paralympic records at Paris. There has been a massive surge in the podium finishes for the nation which had won 12 medals before Tokyo Paralympics in 2020.
