India will contest in at least eight medal events on Day 7 of Paris Paralympics 2024.

India is poised for a strong showing on the seventh day of the Paris Paralympics 2024, with medal opportunities across three sports — para-shooting, para-archery, and para-athletics.

In para shooting, Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal will look to win medals for India in the 50m Pistol SH1. This is the same event where India registered a 1-2 finish in Tokyo courtesy of Manish Narwal and Singhraj Adhana.

There are also para cycling, but India are not among the favourites to medal. Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya will participate in the men’s and women’s Time Trials respectively.

Tokyo bronze medalist Harvinder Singh will try to better the colour of his medal in the para archery men’s recurve individual event. In para table tennis, Tokyo silver medalist, Bhavina Patel, will have opportunity to confirm a medal, but she faces defending champion Zhou Ying of China in the Women’s Singles WS4 quarterfinals. Zhou Ying beat Bhavina in the gold medal match at Tokyo to be crowned the champion.

There are two events of Powerlifting as well but considering the performance at the World Championships, medals look unlikely. However, India’s best hopes for medals lie in para-athletics. Reigning World Champions Sachin Khilari and Simran Sharma will look to win gold for India in the men’s shot put F46 and women’s 400m T12 respectively.

Hopes will also be on Pranav Soorma and Dharambir to add to India’s medal tally. There is also Amisha Rawat who will look to do well in women’s shot put F46 event.
