The ultimate day of Paris Paralympics 2024 will feature only one Indian in action.

Paris Paralympics 2024 will conclude on Sunday (September 10). The next edition of the multi-sports event is slated to take place in Los Angeles, USA in 2028. On the final day of the competition (Day 11), India only has one event left in which Pooja Ojha will be competing. She will participate in the Women’s Kayak Single 200m KL1 discipline.

However, contesting for a medal might be difficult for her given she finished last in her heats with a timing of 1:16.09. She will be in action in the semifinals — which is a second opportunity for para-athletes who failed to qualify for the final through heats.

India has won 27 medals, which include 6 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze at Paris Paralympics 2024. India have long ago surpassed its Tokyo medal tally and will now aim to breach the 30-medal mark.

Pooja, who won silver at the World Championships in a non-Olympic category, will look to better her timing from the heats.

All events on the final day are scheduled to end by 7 PM IST following which the closing ceremony will be held at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis from 11.30 PM (Indian Time) onwards. India have named Harvinder Singh and Preethi Pal as the flag bearers for the closing ceremony. While Harvinder won India’s first-ever gold at the Paralympics, Preethi is a double medallist at Paris.

The ceremony schedule will include medal ceremonies, an opening lineup, speeches and anthems, appreciation for volunteers, an artistic show, the Los Angeles 2028 handover and finally the grand finale.
