Tokyo Olympics Day 6 Preview: Deepika, Rani and Sindhu in action
Women’s Hockey and Archery individual events will be in focus on the sixth day of the Summer Olympics.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are picking up pace each day and athletes from all over the world are doing their optimum. The Indian contingent is performing to the best of their abilities, but are yet to add more medals to their tally. Mirabai Chanu remains the sole medal winner after grabbing the silver in women’s weightlifting. Day 6 of the Tokyo Olympics will see more Indians take the field and aim to win their contests. Several individual and team events are on the cards. Therefore, lots of eyes will be on the Indians, as they continue their journey to win medals in Japan.
Women’s Hockey: India Vs Great Britain
The Indian women’s hockey team will be in action against Great Britain on Day 6 of the Tokyo Olympics. They will play their third game in Women’s Pool A. The outfit must improve on their performance after losing to Netherlands (1-5) and Germany (0-2) in the opening games

Archery: Men’s Individual - Tarundeep Rai Vs Oleksii Hunbin
The individual contests in Archery will begin with Tarundeep Rai in action. He will face Oleksii Hunbin of Ukraine in the Round of 32. The archers could not deliver a medal in team events and will rely on individual performances now.

Archery: Men’s Individual – Pravin Jadhav Vs Galsan Bazarzhapov
Pravin Jadhav will also be in action tomorrow, as he plays Galsan Bazarzhapov who is contesting under the ROC flag. Jadhav was the best Indian performer in men’s qualification. As a result, he partnered with Deepika Kumari in the mixed team event, but could not deliver a medal.

Archery: Women’s Individual – Deepika Kumari Vs Karma
India’s best hopes of a medal in archery lie with Deepika Kumari. The World No.1 female archer will face Bhutan’s Karma in the Round of 32 Elimination Round. Kumari has a lot of expectations on her shoulders, as she aims to win her first Olympic medal in a glorious career.
Deepika will be in action at 2:14 PM IST
Rowing: Men’s Lightweight Double Sculls Semi-finals
Indian pair of Arjun Lal and Arvind Singh will be in action in the semi-final of the lightweight double sculls event. They are in the running for India’s first-ever Olympic medal in the sport of rowing.
The event will begin at 8:00 AM IST
Sailing: Men’s Skiff 49er
The Indian pair of Varun Thakkar and Ganapathy Kelapanda will take part in Race 4, 5 and 6 in the Men’s Skiff 49er event.

Boxing: Women’s Middleweight – Pooja Rani Vs Ichrak Chaib
In women’s boxing, India’s Pooja Rani will be up against Ichrak Chaib of Algeria in the Round of 16. She will hope to turn the tide around after the male boxers failed to impress, losing their bouts in first rounds.

Badminton: Women’s Singles – P.V. Sindhu Vs Cheung Ngan Yi
P.V. Sindhu will take her place on the badminton court for the second time at these Olympics. She will be playing against Hong Kong’s Cheung Ngan Yi in a Group J match. The World No.7 Indian is a strong medal contender and is the favourite to win this match.

Badminton: Men’s Singles – B. Sai Praneeth Vs Mark Caljouw
In the Men’s SIngles bracket, Sai Praneeth will play against Mark Caljouw of the Netherlands. The Indian shuttler lost his opening match against Israel’s Misha Zilberman, while the Dutch athlete defeated the same opponent in his opening outing. This will be a make or break tie for Praneeth.
The match is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm IST
