List of women's teams qualified for cricket event at LA28 Olympics
Six Women’s teams will participate in LA28 Olympics.
Cricket is set to return to the Olympics after a gap of more than 100 years. In the upcoming edition of the Olympic Games, which will take place in Los Angeles in 2028, men’s and women’s cricket are set to battle for the three medals.
The LA28 Olympics will be hosted by the USA in July 2028 and will feature a battle among six Men’s teams and an equal number of Women’s teams. The Women’s cricket events will take place from July 12 to 20.
While the men’s teams are yet to qualify for LA Olympics 2028, five Women’s teams have already booked a berth in the global cricket tournament. Below are the teams from Women’s Cricket that have qualified for the LA Olympics 2028 so far.
5 Women’s Cricket Teams which have qualified for LA Olympics 2028
1. USA Women
USA Women have secured a place in the LA28 Olympics as the host nation. They have gained an automatic qualification as the hosts.
2. England Women
England qualified after reaching semi-finals of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. They will represent Great Britain in the tournament, which includes three international teams- England, Ireland, and Scotland.
3. India Women
India Women also booked their berth in LA Olympics 2028 after their decent performance in 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup. The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. didn’t qualify for the semi-finals of the tournament, but were the best performers among Asian teams. They are the first team from the Asian subcontinent to snatch an Olympic berth.
4. South Africa Women
South Africa also earned qualification for the LA28 Olympics through the Women’s T20 World Cup. They are the only team from Africa so far, while a few other teams will get a chance to qualify through the Global Olympic Tournament qualifiers 2027.
5. Australia Women
Australia also secured their place in the Olympics through the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, in which they have made it to the semi-finals and are set to clash with the West Indies. They leap frogged New Zealand to secure a spot in the Olympics from the Oceania region.
