Indian sports fraternity wish nation on 77th Independence day

Several sportspersons took to social media to celebrate and wish the country on Independence Day.
India celebrates it 77th Independence today and several sportspersons have extended their wishes on this special occasion. Playing for India in itself a pride for everyone and many athletes have gone a step further in winning medals at the grandest of stages in the international competitions keeping the tri colour flying always.
Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, Asian Champion Chirag Shetty, Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi Malik, custodian PR Sreejesh and many others have posted emotional messages to show their love for the country.
Five-time World medallist PV Sindhu tweeted, “I send warm wishes to all my fellow Indians. Raising the tricolour on the podium multiple times has been my greatest honour.”
PR Sreejesh played a important role in India’s recent triumph at the Asian Champions Trophy 2023. The custodian penned down a tweet, “May the symphony of love and passion for your nation resonate on this Independence Day. Happy Independence Day 2023.”

Asian champion Chirag Shetty tweeted, “Remembering our heroes and looking ahead to our future. Here’s to freedom and prosperity!. Proud to be an Indian today and everyday. Happy Independence Day.”
India’s ace defender Sandesh Jhinghan shared a video of Indian players reciting Vande Mataram post winning the recently concluded SAFF Championships in Bengaluru.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar penned down the Independence day wishes in both English and Hindi.
Indian men’s cricket teams captain Rohit Sharma said in his emotional tweet, “The tricolour means more than words can ever convey. Happy Independence Day.”
