World Para Athletics Championships 2025: Updated India schedule for Day 7, October 3

India will participate in nine medal events on Friday.

With 11 medals already in their kitty, India are well on track to register their best-ever medal tally at the Para World Championships.

As many as 16 Indians will be in action on Day 7 of the World Para Athletics Championships 2025, making it one of the bigger days for the home contingent at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

October 3 will see India participate in nine medal events, with two medal events rescheduled to Friday due to previous evening’s rain. Several big names, including Preethi Pal and Simran Sharma will vie for medals on the day.

In the morning session, Dayawanti will start the proceedings for India in women’s shot put F64 event. This will be followed by Paralympic bronze medalist Hokato Hotozhe Sema, Paralympian Soman Raja and Shubham Juyal in shot put F57 qualifying round.

Monu Ghangas will compete in his second event in discus throw F11.

In the evening session Devender Kumar, Pardeep and Sagar Thayat will participate in discus throw F44. Paralympic silver medalist Nishad Kumar will also be in action and will be looking to become a world champion.

The first Indian to win a track medal Preethi Pal, will look to win her third worlds medal. She will be followed by Simran Sharma who will look to add another medal.

So far, India has won 11 medals—including four gold—at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025. India’s best-ever medal tally came in the previous edition where they won 17 medals. Now hosting the competition for the first time, the contingent will aim to surpass that tally and set a new record.

On Thursday, Dharambir Nain and Atul Kaushik added to India’s medal count with a silver and bronze in men’s club throw F1 and discus throw F57 respectively.

  • 9:10 AM – Men’s Shot Put F57 Qualifying – Hokato Hotozhe Sema, Shubham Juyal, Soman Rana
  • 9:56 AM – Men’s Discus Throw F11 Final – Monu Ghangas
  • 11:10 AM – Women’s 100m T12 S-Finals – Simran Sharma
  • 5:00 PM – Men’s Discus Throw F44 Final – Devender Kumar, Pardeep, Sagar Thayat
  • 5:20 PM – Men’s High Jump T47 Final – Nishad Kumar, Ram Pal
  • 6:27 PM – Women’s 200m T35 Final – Preethi Pal
  • 6:40 PM – Men’s Discus Throw F64 Final – Pardeep Kumar, Sharvan Kumar
  • 6:55 PM – Men’s Shot Put F46 Final – Mohd Yasser, Parveen, Sachin Khilari
  • 7:00 PM – Men’s Long Jump T64 Final – Dharmaraj Solairaj
  • 7.10 PM – Women’s 100m T12 Finals – Simran Sharma
