World Para Athletics Championships 2025: Updated India schedule for Day 8, October 4

India will participate in six medal events on Day 8 of the championships.

After a fabulous Day 7 at the World Para Athletics Championships 2025, India will head into the penultimate day of the multi-discipline event with an opportunity to match their best-ever medal tally in the competition’s history.

A total of 11 Indian para-athletes will be in action on Day 8 of the event, participating in seven events. Of those, six will be medal events with big names like Simran Sharma, Hokato Hotozhe Sema, and Praveen Kumar set to compete.

In the morning session, Suresh Nimisha will start the proceedings for India in women’s Long Jump T47 category. This will be followed by Pradeep Kumar in the men’s javelin throw F54. Both players will be looking to achieve their personal best.

In the evening session, Ekta Bhyan will be giving her best to win a medal in women’s club throw F51. Her compatriot Kashish Lakra will be looking to achieve a new personal best.

The marquee event of day 8 will be the men’s shot put F57. Paralympic bronze medalist Hokato Hotozhe Sema will be chasing his first world medal, while the Asian Para Games silver medalist Soman Rana will also be chasing his first worlds medal.

Alongside them, compatriot Shubham Juyal, who registered a new personal best in the qualifying round, will be looking to go better in the final.

Meanwhile, after her historic gold in 100m T12 category, Simran Sharma return to the track in pursuit of another medal in women’s 200m T12 heats.

In another big event, Paralympic champion Praveen Kumar will be looking to become the world champion in men’s high jump T64.

India has so far won 15 medals at the ongoing World Para Athletics Championships 2025, including six gold medals. The nation will hope to surpass it best-ever medal tally (17 medals) in the remaining two days and seta a new record in the competition history.

  • 5:05 PM – Women’s Club Throw F51 Final – Ekta Bhyan, Kashish Lakra
  • 5:24 PM – Men’s High Jump T64 Final – Banti, Praveen Kumar
  • 5:44 PM – Women’s 200m T12 Round 1 – Simran Sharma
  • 6:30 PM – Men’s Javelin Throw F13 Final – Manjeet
