Team co-owners take centre stage in star-studded Celebrity Pickleball Showdown curtain-raiser at Jio World Garden in Mumbai.
Mega star Samantha Ruth Prabhu, national award-winning filmmaker Atlee, Bollywood superstar Riteish Deshmukh and power couple Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani will step onto the pickleball court for a first-of-its-kind Celebrity Pickleball Showdown, kicking off World Pickleball League (WPBL) Season 2 on January 24 at Jio World Garden in Mumbai.
The Celebrity Pickleball Showdown puts the spotlight firmly on the league’s star team co-owners, with India’s No.1 pickleball league featuring seven teams owned by icons, including youth icon Rishabh Pant, Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, alongside Samantha, Rakul-Jackky and Atlee.

In a unique, fan-first format, the celebrity owners will pair up with players from their respective teams, facing off against one another in an entertaining, high-octane clash that brings fans closer to the personalities shaping the league, while delivering action, flair and fun in equal measure.
Speaking ahead of the season opener, Gaurav Natekar, Founder and CEO, World Pickleball League, said, “I have seen and played pickleball with Samantha, Atlee and Riteish, and I am excited to play against our team owners in the Celebrity Pickleball Showdown to kickstart Season 2 of India’s No. 1 pickleball league.

Samantha, Atlee, Riteish, Rakul and Jackky’s on-court appearances headline a season that will feature 120 matches across 13 days, with 56 elite players from 18 nations competing in the league. Season 2 matches begin on January 27, with the final scheduled for February 8.
