Indian Pickleball League 2025: Top 5 Indians to look out for

Indian Pickleball League 2025 will feature six city-based franchise teams competing in New Delhi.

The first-ever edition of the Indian Pickleball League, is scheduled to kick off on December 1 at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

The IPBL 2025 will marks India’s first official national pickleball league, sanctioned by the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA).

The tournament will feature six franchise-owned city teams including the Gurgaon Capital Warriors, Mumbai Smashers, Bengaluru Blasters, Chennai Super Warriors, and Hyderabad Royals.

A powerful mix of global stars and top Indian talent will be playing at the Indian Pickleball League 2025.

International stars like Phuc Huynh, Ben Newell, Quang Duong, Mitchell Hargreaves, and Emilia Schmidt will join rising Indian players including Aditya Ruhela, Rakshikha Ravi, Stavya Bhasin, Snehal Patil, and Arjun Singh.

Here’s a look at the top five Indians to watch out for at the Indian Pickleball League 2025:

Indian players to watch at Indian Pickleball League 2025

Aditya Ruhela – Lucknow Leopards

Aditya Ruhela steps into the league as the most decorated Indian player in the lineup. Currently PWR World No. 2 with 1080 points, he is a former Asia No.1 and the first Indian to win an international singles medal outside Asia—a historic Silver at the English Open.

His journey began unexpectedly with a broken tennis racket and later gained momentum during COVID. Despite financial challenges and a three-month battle with chickenpox, Ruhela emerged as India’s top singles specialist, dominating domestic circuits with consistency.

His global experience, sharp decision-making, and pressure-handling ability make him one of IPBL’s marquee picks.

    Shreya Chakraborty – Hyderabad Royals

Shreya begins her IPBL chapter with a comeback story rooted in perseverance. Once a Division 1 tennis player in the U.S., her career abruptly halted after two ACL and meniscus surgeries.

Returning to India uncertain of her sporting future, she discovered pickleball through a friend—an introduction that revived her competitive fire.

Shreya’s rise since then has been rapid and result-driven: Bronze in her debut PWR 200 Singles, a breakthrough Pro Women’s Singles bronze at Picklebay, and multiple doubles podiums including PWR 200 Kolkata Gold and Picklebay Open Gold.

Her ability to compete across formats makes her one of the most valuable rookies entering IPBL 2025.

      Rakshikha Ravi – Bengaluru Blasters

Rakshikha Ravi brings a blend of discipline, academic balance, and international results. With a background in tennis, Bharatanatyam, and music, she entered pickleball post-lockdown and stunned the circuit by winning silver at the Texas Open.

She has since secured Silver at the Dubai Open 2025, Bronze in Women’s Doubles, a World Cup Silver in Florida, and earlier World Cup Gold in Peru. Balancing her B.Tech studies with elite training, Rakshikha is one of India’s most dependable young performers heading into the season.

Stayva Bhasin – Capital Warriors Gurgaon

At just 17, Stavya Bhasin arrives as India’s strongest teenage talent. Introduced to pickleball casually by friends, he trained through grueling afternoon sessions that shaped his athletic base.

Despite suffering a slipped disc that affected his international plans, Stavya collected a staggering 45+ junior medals, became the 2025 Men’s Doubles National Champion, and clinched the Junior Singles Gold at the 2024 Minto US Open.

With an advanced DUPR profile and a mature approach to competition, he stands out as a future star.

          Snehal Patil – Hyderabad Royals

Snehal Kishore Patil represents the power of self-built sporting success. Growing up in Jalgaon with no professional courts, she trained through improvisation and persistence.

Transitioning from tennis, guided by her maternal uncle, she climbed quickly—her breakthrough coming with the Queen of Asia title (2022–23).

Since then, she has swept tournaments with unmatched consistency: Triple Gold at Kolkata Open 2025, Triple Gold at Vadodara Open 2025, podium finishes at Dubai Open, Chennai Open, and multiple Monsoon Championship medals.

With such consistent multi-format success, Snehal stands out as a high-value, high-reliability pick for Hyderabad Royals this season.
