History starts here for Indian pro wrestling.
Pro Wrestling Rebellion, India’s newest professional wrestling promotion, will hold its first-ever arena Premium Live Event, Kranti, on September 11 at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.
PWR is calling it a landmark night for the Indian sports entertainment scene, and “Kranti,” which translates to “revolution” in Hindi, is exactly how the promotion is positioning its arrival.
The company was founded by former WWE Superstars Mansoor and Jeet Rama. Mansoor, currently signed to AEW, will also be an active in-ring competitor on the card. Tickets for Kranti are on sale via BookMyShow, starting at Rs. 99, with floor and ringside seats being added in batches as demand grows.
The lineup for the show features a mix of international names and homegrown Indian talent, including Johnny TV (formerly John Morrison), Donovan Dijak, Killian Dain (now Big Damo), Saurav Gurjar, Shanky, Guru Raaj and Mansoor himself. PWR has started rolling out official match announcements, and here is a look at them so far.
Johnny Bollywood to face Mansoor in his India in-ring debut
Catch Every Update, Anytime, Anywhere
Ahead of the show, Johnny TV had asked Indian fans to help him pick a new ring name for his India run, continuing his long-running tradition of adopting a fresh identity in every promotion he wrestles for. Fans voted, and the name that stuck was Johnny Bollywood.
PWR has now made it official. Watch Johnny Bollywood make his India in-ring debut against Mansoor, who will also wrestle in India for the first time. Two men making their India debuts on the same night, in the same match, at PWR’s first-ever show.
PWR has also confirmed a match between Donovan Dijak and Indian wrestling star Baliyan Akki, who has built his name on the Japanese independent circuit through promotions like Gatoh Move and DDT Pro-Wrestling. The promotion has billed it as an epic collision between two forces in the same ring.
PWR has announced a showdown between Jora Johl and JT Baba, billed by the promotion as The Lion against The Mythical Force. Both men are expected to bring an intense, no-holds-barred energy to the bout, with PWR promising no backing down and no mercy once the bell rings.
Adding international flavor to the card, PWR has confirmed a three-way match between Emi Sakura, Kanji and Mei Suruga. Three wrestlers will enter, but only one will walk out victorious, making it one of the more unpredictable matches announced for KRANTI so far.
