The world of professional wrestling has seen some of the most remarkable and influential leaders who revolutionized the business with their unique approach for almost five decades.
Even in today’s time, some top officials are in charge of major promotions and building more successful ventures than ever before.
Looking at the last few years in professional wrestling, here are the top five most influential players in the business today:
5. Nick Khan
After the McMahon family stepped aside from the helm of WWE’s corporate structure, TKO Group Holdings’ long-time President Nick Khan was summoned to take over the reins as the WWE Chief Executive Officer.
Since then, Khan alongside his team has been producing highly compelling and successful television programming and other ventures related to WWE that have given a fresh direction to the global juggernaut moving forward.
4. Shawn Michaels
After Triple H moved up to the main roster, he handed over the reins of WWE NXT to his best friend and WWE Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels.
The now-SVP of NXT revamped the Black and Gold brand in his way, opening doors to major opportunities for upcoming talent such as bug tryouts, collaboration with TNA and more, carrying on his in-ring career influence to the office structure today.
3. Tony Khan
In 2019, Tony Khan built a direct competitor to WWE, All Elite Wrestling to give a fresh landscape and a huge opportunity for some of the most talented athletes in the world.
In only five years, Khan’s promotion has made significant strides with some of the biggest shows and collaborations and looks to change the professional wrestling landscape in its unique way.
2. The Rock
One of the biggest stars in WWE and Hollywood, The Rock took over the responsibilities as a member of the TKO Board and became a huge part of WWE’s road to WrestleMania 40, fetching spectacular traction for the company.
His years of stardom, presence in Hollywood as a pro wrestling representative, and now being a TKO Board member make him a highly influential figure in professional wrestling.
1. Triple H
Triple H began his role in the WWE office in 2010 after his successful in-ring career and quickly ascended to the top of the corporate structure with the success of his brainchild, NXT.
After a brief tenure leading the creative, WWE’s parent company, TKO, made Triple H the new Chief Content Officer with his new era dawning at WrestleMania 40.
Since then, The Game has taken the numbers higher than ever, producing top-level Premium Live Events and compelling television products each week, with the era being christened as the Paul “Triple H” Levesque era.
