Jinder Mahal was released from his WWE contract in April 2024

Jinder Mahal (Raj Dhesi) is an Indian-Canadian Professional Wrestler, who represents Indian culture with his gimmick. Mahal has been in the pro-wrestling industry since 2004 and made his way into WWE in 2010. Maharaja have a long history with WWE since then and two different runs in the company.

Mahal is a four-time champion in WWE including his one-time WWE Championship and one-time United States Championship. The Modern Day Maharaja was released from WWE earlier this year and that shocked the pro-wrestling industry.

Mahal shared his release status and said that he would continue wrestling after his 90-day non-compete period. During his non-compete period, Mahal has built hype for his Independent Circuit return and filed trademarks for his gimmick and wrestling name. It was reported that he would wrestle under his real name Raj Dhesi in the Indies. After a long wait, Maharaja Jas made her debut in style and won gold in his debut match.

Raj Dhesi (Jinder Mahal) wins BLP Championship

Raj Dhesi (fka Jinder Mahal) recently made his debut at Black label Pro’s Old Habits Die Screaming show on July 26, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. This is the first appearance of Maharaja after the WWE release, where Dhesi fought Dominic Garrini for the BLP Heavyweight Championship. Garrini defended the championship on behalf of his Violence is Forever partner Kevin Ku, who is currently out of action due to injury.

In a twelve-minute long main event, Raj Dhesi defeated Dominic Garrini with his finisher Khallas to win the BLP Heavyweight Championship on his Black Label Pro debut.

This is the beginning of Raj Dhesi’s journey in the independent circuits after the WWE release. He is also scheduled to make his appearance on Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) on August 4, 2024, at the Can I Trust You Event at the Asbury Park in New Jersey. Dhesi will fight Mike Bailey in the event.

The Modern Day Maharaja will also be making his appearance at Noble Champions Group (NCG)’s Bad Temper event on August 31, 2024, at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. Dhesi will face Jessie V in a singles match in his home country.
