ISSF Junior World Cup 2023: India top medals tally for second straight year

14 medals were shared between the rifle and pistol shooters.

India finished the ISSF Junior World Cup 2023 on a high, topping the medals tally (15 medals - six gold, six silver, and three bronze) in Suhl, Germany. A total of 39 Indian shooters were part of the squad with experienced Dhanush Srikanth spearheading the shooting contingent. Out of the 15 medals, 14 were won by Rifle and Pistol contingent with a lone medal (skeet bronze) from the Shot Gun.

Overall, 511 junior shooters from 46 countries took part in the ISSF Junior World Cup 2023 played between June 1st to June 9th. After a successful stint in Germany, the focus will now shift to ISSF Junior World Chmapionships set to be held next month in Korea. Sainyam and Dhanush Srikanth were the pick of the shooters having three and two medals respectively. Dhanush, 20, is a two time Deaflympics gold medallist and is a future star to look forward to.
